Katarina Leigh FKA Winter has paved the way for women in FWE. She beat Rosita in the first womens match in FWE history, and made it all the way to the finals of the tournament to crown the first ever champion. Although she lost to Maria due to outside interference from Tara and Tessmacher (T.N.T.), she would become the second FWE womens champion less than a month later. Katarina successfully defended her title against Melina after distracting special guest referee Lita. She would end up losing the championship back to Maria when Maria’s real life fiance Mike Bennett got physically involved in their rematch at FWE X. In addition to her role as womens champion, she became the first female commentator in FWE. After commentating for just one match in her debut, fans demanded more and she became a fulltime commentator.
